CONFERENCE TOPICS

  1. Systematics, taxonomy, distribution, ecology and fungal culture collections
  2. Medicinal and nutritional value of mushrooms and pharmacology of active compounds
  3. Mushroom nutraceuticals in theory and practice – production, regulation, promotion and marketing worldwide
  4. Fungal physiology, biochemistry and genetics
  5. Mycotechnology and cultivation in research and industry
  6. Mycoremediation in forestry and agriculture
  7. Ethnomycology, traditional and alternative medicines using medicinal mushrooms
  8. Special panel discussion:
    1. Medicinal mushrooms and cancer, and/or
    2. Medicinal mushrooms and viral infections

CONFERENCE STRUCTURE

The conference scientific program will consist of main topics presentations, plenary keynote lectures, parallel oral presentation sessions, special panel discussion and poster exhibition sessions. Additionally, an International Industrial Exhibition of Medicinal Mushrooms and Mushroom Products (MYKO EXPO) will be held from September 22-27, 2011.

The official language of the conference is English, including all lectures and printed materials. No translation will be provided. (back to top)

CONFERENCE PROGRAM

The Conference’s scientific program (.pdf - 153 kB) (time table of all accepted works (.pdf - 217 kB)) will last from September 26 – 29, 2011. September 25 is Registration Day and September 28 is excursion day. The Conference Trade Exhibition MYKO EXPO starts on September 22 and ends on September 27.

There are 2 poster sessions planned - Poster Session 1 starts on Monday, 4:15 p.m. and Poster Session 2, starting on Wednesday, 10:45 a.m.

ACCOMMODATION AND VENUES

Two hotels will provide rooms for the participants of the 6th International Medicinal Mushroom Conference: Hotel Antunovic and Hotel Holiday. Hotel Antunovic (Add: Zagrebacka Avenija 100A) is the main venue of the conference, where all oral and poster presentations will be presented; hotel Holiday (Add: Jankomir 27) will be used for the Trade Exhibition (Myko Expo).

Prices given in the table below are given as a room (or in the case of Hotel Holiday - per person) per night and include your breakfast and all taxes.

Hotel Antunovic is the newest business hotel in Zagreb. Hotel Holiday is 25 years old and is currently undergoing renovation, resulting in a wider range of room types available.
